Services I offer

I truly believe in the power of you. You are the expert on you, your life, your unique experiences and your own social context.

I have witnessed the power of therapy to support you. Assisted by strategies and tools drawn from a range of approaches, we will explore together what is happening for you. This might involve developing a greater awareness of your emotions and the influence of thoughts and beliefs on how you are feeling. By creating the space to reflect on your relationships you may find yourself discovering new insights about them, both present and past.

Whether you would like just one or a small number of therapy sessions, or you feel that you want an opportunity to spend more time to explore what is going on for you, I offer both brief and longer-term work at hart therapy, counselling and psychotherapy.

I work with adults face-to-face from my comfortable therapy practice room in Sheffield 10, or online via zoom or by telephone.

I have successfully used zoom to connect with people who have preferred to work online for many personal reasons and have supported both younger and older less confident adults to access therapy online.

I also offer outdoor ‘Walk and Talk’ therapy.

We can discuss using a blend of these approaches, according to your individual circumstances.

Walk and Talk Therapy

Being able to move freely by walking alongside a therapist can encourage more open discussion and can be helpful when feeling a little ‘stuck’ by reconnecting body and mind.

As you walk in the fresh air, be it warm weather or chilly, and breathe more deeply you can begin to release body-held tension which, in turn, may help you process your experiences and find the language to express your emotions.

Stepping out of the box of the therapy room, the online frame or telephone and into the ultimate container of wide open spaces that nature provides can be a cathartic experience.

I will be walking with you and will ensure that you have the tools to keep you ‘safe’ before embarking on this. Pausing for a moment or two to reflect, breathing mindfully and using nature’s wonderful surroundings to soothe and reconnect can be particularly helpful when going through major life transitions, loss and bereavement.

Local green spaces are selected in agreement with you and will be on footpaths where possible.

A waterproof and sturdy shoes should be all you need to participate after completing a health and safety assessment.

You can be assured…
